Inspired by the wild black bear of Alaska where I spent many years, living, working and playing in the snow, "Black bear" studies are an ongoing theme in my artwork. Black bear sightings are very common and I frequently observed black bears while hiking and camping in the Alaska wilderness. "Black bear 86" is the 86TH painting in this series. Each "Black bear" painting is unique in composition and may vary in palette and size.
